Rydal Penrhos School have confirmed the appointment to Nicholas Grenfell-Marten to its governing body.
The popular figure, who held the position of interim bursar at the school for 18 months, is one of three new board members and will take up the role as Chair of the Finance and Estates Committee.
After a career in education for 36 years, 30 years of which were as a Bursar in a number of schools, Mr Grenfell-Marten recently moved to Anglesey with his wife, Suzi, a former Headteacher.
During his career, Mr Grenfell-Marten was previously Chairman of the Independent Schools’ Bursars Association and a member of the Independent Schools’ Council.
He has also been a Governor of four schools, both independent and state schools and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
Chair of Governors’ Julian Barnes, said: “Nick has been acting as our bursar for a year and a half and has previously been Bursar of several independent schools. His experience and work has already helped us greatly.
“Together we are planning to become the most vibrant independent boarding and day school in the North West. As we turn some of the more ambitious ideas into firm plans it will be my pleasure to keep you informed.
“In the meantime, the vital management and running of the School continues.
