Boarding Houses at Rydal Penrhos took to the stage in the pursuit of bragging rights at a recent event.
The annual Inter-House Boarding Singing Competition took place at the Memorial Hall on Thursday, February 8, which saw a large crowd descend on the venue to witness the showcase.
After a hugely competitive evening, Netherton were awarded the winning prize for their superb performance, which was the second time they have got their hands on the coveted trophy.
Narrowly missing out on the top spot were Hathaway in second, while Edwards could not take home the title for a third consecutive year despite a fabulous performance which was good enough to seal a third-placed finish.
Rounding off the placings were Beecholme for their version of the Rick Astley 1980’s classic ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’, which also featured an introductory solo from Augustas Skierus, who transformed into Frank Sinatra for a rendition of ‘Fly Me to the Moon’.
Director of Music Pete Williams, said: “It was another fantastic inter-house event and congratulations go to each boarding house on their wonderful efforts.
“They spent a lot of time rehearsing their respective pieces which shows just how much pride they have in competitions such as this, which always provides the entire Rydal Penrhos community with a great deal of excitement.”
