Netball: U13A turn in encouraging display at King's Chester tournament

Rydal Penrhos’ U13A Netball squad turned in a series of encouraging displays at a recent tournament.

The team travelled to The King’s School Chester for a four-side competition on Saturday, February 9, with the squad producing a series of impressive results to continue their excellent start to the campaign.

They began the tournament with a superb 11-6 win over the hosts, before the Rydal Penrhos side fell to defeat at the hands of Ellesmere College.

Credit to the Lower School group, they responded well to the setback and ended the competition on a high with a creditable 3-3 draw with Abbey Gate College after a hugely competitive affair.

This can give the squad a great deal of encouragement in the weeks and months ahead as they continue to improve all aspects of their Netball play and Strength and Conditioning work with Rydal Penrhos’ specialist coaching staff.

Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This was an excellent performance from our U13A squad, who work incredibly hard as a team and each member of the squad have individual qualities that also play a significant part in their success.

“Hopefully this will stand them in good stead not only for the current campaign, but as they develop their chemistry and togetherness for the remainder of their time here at Rydal Penrhos.”

U13A squad: Lily Davies, Eve Durrans, Bea Gardener, Martha Hind, Ella James, Ruby Merrick, Ariana Milligan.
