A talented netballer has been acknowledged for her instant impact on Rydal Penrhos life with a prominent leadership position.
Alexandra Williams, a Lower Sixth Form pupil at the school, has been appointed as First VII vice-captain after impressing Head of Girls’ Games Nicky Head during the selection process.
She arrived at Rydal Penrhos on a sports scholarship in September and has wasted no time in fully integrating herself within the Sixth Form and wider school community.
Her immediate efforts with the Netball side have come in for significant praise, and she will now be working with newly appointed skipper and fellow sports scholar Nia ahead of a busy series of fixtures during the second half of the spring term.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Alexandra has worked incredibly hard since joining our dedicated sports scholarship programme here at Rydal Penrhos, and this bodes very well for what lies ahead for her in the vice-captaincy role.
“She is tremendously dedicated and possesses an enormous amount of quality on the netball court, with her communication skills, knowledge of the game and ability to motivate other key traits that will stand her in extremely good stead going forward.
“Our senior netball side have enjoyed a very promising start to their season and this can give each member of the squad a great source of encouragement for the challenges that lie ahead.”
