Rydal Penrhos’ senior netballers will look to start their season in style during their first official competitive fixtures this weekend.
The school’s first and second units make the trip to Christ College Brecon on Saturday, January 12, with Head of Girls’ Games has named two strong squads as they look to get their campaign off to a flyer.
This marks the start of a very busy series of fixtures across all age groups throughout the campaign, with the first team possessing plenty of talent which should result in plenty of achievements as the season progresses.
Sports scholar Nia Humphreys and Head Girl Gowri Pradeep have both earned representative honours at county level, with the likes of Imogen Camp, Alexandra Williams and Keira Bonnington also set to play a key role in any success that comes their way.
The first team squad got into the season with plenty of confidence after an extremely positive showing at the Conwy Presidents’ Cup, which saw them secure a 9-4 victory over nearby Eirias High School, in addition to beating St David’s College and Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy during an unbeaten run through the competition.
They honed their skills further on Sunday when Rydal Penrhos welcomed an Australian touring team and Chester Panthers for a pre-season tournament.
The second VII will also get their competitive action underway at the same venue, with Anna Parry-Williams, Sydney Johnson and Cerys Cuddihy set to lead the charge.
