A number of talented musicians picked up notable accolades from a high-profile annual ceremony recently.

Eddie Farrell, Samuel Jones, Zahra Shamsi, Amy Yue and Bijou Rajagopal were acknowledged with full colours thanks to their tireless commitment and supreme performances.

A plethora of talented musicians were presented with half colours as a result of their sterling efforts, with Isabel Bateson, Hannah Davies, Shruthi Ganapathi, Juan Rajagopal, Beau Holden, Kevin Farrell, Alicia Zhou, Arthur Hind, Megan Gibson, Niamh Cook, Arend Franssens, Ollie Gibson, Darcie Harker-Weston, Harry Grocott, Tegid Goodman-Jones, Richard Wolfendale, Bella Rutherford and Emma Hourihane awarded the accolades.

It has been another incredible academic year of success for the department, which continues to benefit from the unrivalled passion and dedication from Director of Music Pete Williams and teacher Richard Davies.

This has included a sensational Orchestra contribution to the Dramatic Society production of Les Misérables, with the Christmas Concert another notable highlight.

Mr Williams, said: “Each pupil that received full or half colours in Music was thoroughly deserving of the honour, and they can all be rightfully proud of their progression and selfless contribution at various school and community events.

“They are all tremendously talented and possess a superb hunger and desire to become better each and every day, and I am very fortunate to be able to work with them here at our fantastic school.”
