A host of gifted musicians and vocalists at Rydal Penrhos are gearing up for one of the highlights of the school calendar this week.
The highly anticipated Summer Concert will take place on Thursday, May 4 from 6.30-8.30pm in the Ferguson Centre, with a large number of pupils taking the stage in-front of a live audience as part of Rydal Penrhos’ Music Week initiative.
There is set to be plenty to enjoy during the first half of the event, which will feature the sensational singing of Arthur Hind and Tegid Goodman-Jones, who has won a number of accolades during an impressive first year at Rydal Penrhos.
Alicia Zhou, Zahra Shamsi and Amy Yue will also be performing a series of pieces, while Nick Dundee will be closing out his time at the school with The Man That Can’t Be Moved.
Rydal Penrhos’ Community Choir and Jazz Band will be leading on from their highlight performance at Creative Rhos, and Year 5 and 6 will be singing You Raise Me Up which they rehearsed in-front of Senior School chapel this week.
The second half of the concert brings plenty of diversity in the form of Sammy Jones, Miles Poller, Alex Roberts, Juan Rajagopal and Richard Wolfendale, and Head Girl will be putting her stunning voice to good use with a rendition of the Radiohead anthem Creep.
The supremely talented Niamh Cook will also be showcasing her skills, while Edwards House, the school’s Sixth Form, Senior and Community Choirs will be performing various songs to close out the event.
