A talented Preparatory School pupil has achieved some notable distinctions within a musical and performing arts environment in recent weeks.
Rana Abou-Samra, a Year 6 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, has been working incredibly hard to improve her musical knowledge with teacher Richard Davies and other specialist coaches at the school, and her efforts saw her entered for a Grade 3 Piano assessment despite her tender age.
This was administered by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and Rana produced a fantastic effort to pass the grading with flying colours.
She received a certificate acknowledging her wonderful achievement from Prep School Head Alison Hind and Assistant Head Catherine Hughes at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, June 14.
Rana’s ability to perform well on the big stage also saw her gain a hugely impressive second place at the Chester Festival of Performing Arts in a U14 category, which is a significant achievement from the 11-year-old.
Mrs Hind, said: “Rana’s musical prowess has been just one of the ways she has impacted the Prep School community during her time at Rydal Penrhos, and everyone that has seen her perform at our concerts will not be surprised in the slightest to see her achieving such a high grading success for someone so young.
“Rana deserves an enormous amount of credit for the way she has conducted herself across her academic studies and co-curricular activities, and hopefully this is a trend that can continue long into the future.”
