Maths teacher Andy Thomas arranges Comedy Night to boost London Marathon funds for St Kentigern

A staff member at Rydal Penrhos has arranged a special event to raise funds ahead of his participation in a nationwide event.

Andy Thomas, a Mathematics teacher at the school, has put together a Charity Comedy Night to boost his overall total for the London Marathon, which he will run later this year.

All proceeds from the night and the marathon will be donated to St Kentigern’s Hospice in St Asaph, which Mr Thomas is doing in memory of mother-in-law Pauline, who spent her final days at the Hospice almost a decade ago.

Taking centre stage at the Comedy Night, which will take place on Saturday, March 17 from 7.30pm at North Coast Church in Towyn, will be Rob Thomas, winner of the UK Pun Championships this year and a finalist at the Reading Comedy Festival.

Also appearing on the bill will be Stephen Cook and Mark Williams, who has featured on the BBC Radio 4 New Comedy Award show and his performance was described as “a masterclass in observational comedy” by the Yorkshire Times.

Tickets for the event are priced at £8, with £6 concessions for senior citizens, students, the unemployed or under 18’s.

Anyone wishing to purchase a ticket can do so by calling 07830 005232, or by visiting https://www.tickettailor.com/events/andyscomedynight/141921.

Alternatively, anyone that is unable to make the evening and wishes to donate to Mr Thomas’ London Marathon fund can do so here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=Andy_Thomas_London_Marathon4StKentigern&pageUrl=1.
