A pair of Preparatory School performing artists have received recognition for their fantastic work with a regional academy.
Maggie McDuff and Grace Watkins, Year 5 pupils at Rydal Penrhos, recently joined the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts in Llandudno and have made a huge impression in their relatively short time with the group after it opened during the summer.
This success has brought with it as Maggie came away with the Most Achieved in Comedy and Drama after impressing her coaches with some outstanding performances including at the Rhos on Sea Winter Fair.
There was further cause for celebration as Grace was appointed as a captain at the Academy after demonstrating impressive leadership skills at the various sessions she has taken part in.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “Both Maggie and Grace have made a massive contribution to the academy since its inception, and I know that they are getting an enormous amount of enjoyment out of it while also learning some new skills in the process.
“Our pupils really show a tremendous amount of commitment to their out-of-school activities in a wide range of different areas, and this is an essential part of a child’s development and something we actively encourage at Rydal Penrhos.
“Congratulations to Maggie and Grace and I look forward to seeing how they progress in the coming months.”
