A leading school travel company have been confirmed as the sponsor for this year’s Rydal Penrhos U16 Rugby 7s tournament.
The newly named MSG Tours 7s will take place at the school’s outstanding New Field facility on Saturday, March 9, which will feature a host of youth clubs and schools from across the region.
Teams will be put into four groups, and following the opening games, each team will be divided into Cup, Plate, Bowl, Trophy and Shield depending on their placings in each pool.
Last year’s competition was cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions, with the second running of the event in 2017 seeing Welsh Rugby Union president Dennis Gethin on hand to view the action and dish out the trophies following what was a hotly contested day of action.
MSG Tours have a long association with the school and have provided some incredible experiences for Rydal Penrhos’ aspiring athletes in recent years, including the landmark rugby tour of Japan and the boys’ hockey pre-season tour to northern Spain.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “We are thrilled that MSG Tours have agreed to be the sponsor of this year’s competition, which promises to be another wonderful showcase of the region’s rugby 7s talent.
“They are a fantastic company to work with and have provided some unforgettable experiences for past and current pupils, and I would like to thank them on behalf of everyone at Rydal Penrhos for their continued support.”
