A talented performing artist at Rydal Penrhos has been rewarded for her extra-curricular efforts with an exam grading success.
Lucy Jones, a Year 10 pupil at the school, produced a truly incredible effort to come away with a high Distinction from her Grade Three Musical Theatre examination, which she sat in July.
The 15-year-old, who has been part of the Rydal Penrhos community since joining as a Year 4 Prep School pupil in 2011, achieved the feat as part of the Stagecoach Performing Arts Centre in Colwyn Bay, which she attends every Saturday.
The pupil has been a huge part of the school’s Dramatic Society performances of To Kill a Mockingbird and Annie the Musical, which drew widespread plaudits with Lucy playing Man 3, Usherette, in addition to a Court Clerk in the iconic Harper Lee play.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “This is fabulous news and it is great to hear that Lucy’s hard work in the lead-up to her Musical Theatre examination has paid off.
“She is incredibly passionate about the performing arts and has contributed heavily to the success of our Dramatic Society in recent years, and hopefully this will be the start of many more successes in the future and everyone at Rydal Penrhos wishes her well as she goes in pursuit of further extra-curricular acknowledgments in the future.”
