University hopefuls at Rydal Penrhos have been begun preparations ahead of possible placements next year.
The Lower Sixth pupils took a trip to the UCAS Higher Education Exhibition, which was held in Liverpool on Thursday, June 14.
During the event the 69-strong group were able to attend subject specific talks and engage with admission officers from a large number of UK universities.
The trip was in preparation for their Higher Education Preparation Day on Friday, June 15, where the begun to fill out their UCAS forms in the hope of gaining a place at the University of their choosing next year.
This is the latest in a series of initiatives put on by the school’s dedicated staff designed to give each Sixth Form pupil making the first steps towards the next stage of their education the best possible knowledge and understanding ahead of the application process during what is sure to be a busy final school year for the group.
Head of Sixth Form Peter Lavery, said: “This event is one of the best ways to get a broader understanding of what is to come for each of our University applicants in the coming months, and the exhibition was another very worthwhile experience for the group that will stand them in good stead going forward.
“It may seem like an eternity away at the moment, but their final year will go past in the blink of an eye so it is essential they begin to focus on what they want out of the remainder of their education and a possible career path following their degree.”
