A group of Lower School pupils at Rydal Penrhos were rewarded for exceptional commitment to their studies prior to the festive break.
No fewer than 11 managed to secure academic effort and attainment prizes after impressing teaching staff considerably during the first term of the year, and each of them received a certificate and a generous round of applause from the entire Rydal Penrhos contingent at the winter term Prizegiving Assembly.
The Year 7 duo of Harrison McKinnel and Liam Farrell made a lasting impression during their first few months at the Senior School and were acknowledged with Effort Prizes, with former Prep Head Boy James Gilman, Tarun Ramesh and William Rutherford securing Attainment Prizes after thriving across all areas of Rydal Penrhos life.
There was further cause for celebration in the form of the Year 8 contingent, with Ella James, Prune Chasteau and Ada Vonbank’s outstanding progression seeing them achieved Effort Prizes.
Rounding off the accolades were Lily Davies, Zac Roberts and Kosi Iwobi, who collected Attainment Prizes thanks to their sterling contributions in and out of the classroom.
Lower School Head Gabriella Murphy, said: “It has been a group effort from each pupil during a very successful first term of the academic year, and these 11 in particular really shone in terms of their application to their studies and their overall attitude to life here at Rydal Penrhos.
“They were all thoroughly deserving of their respective awards and hopefully they can continue this trend going forward.”
