A group of caring pupils held a special social event for residents at a Colwyn Bay care home.
The Lower School contingent arranged a summer garden party at Merton Place Residential Home prior to the break, which saw Year 7 joined by Sixth Form Prefects for a fun-filled afternoon.
Family members and residents enjoyed the festivities in the basking sunshine, which included plenty of entertainment in the form of musical performances from the visiting pupils.
There was also plenty of cake for those in attendance to enjoy, and each pupil spent a great deal of time talking with residents about their respective experiences throughout their eventful lives.
This is the latest in a series of initiatives run by the school for Merton Place residents throughout the academic year, which has seen multiple trips to the facility from Prep and Senior School pupils.
Year 7 spent considerable time with some of the residents for a special Memory Book project earlier this year, while young members of the Rydal Penrhos community performed songs at the site over the festive period and during the spring.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “Our Lower School group have done some fantastic work not only at Merton Place, but throughout the entire community during what has been another hugely successful academic year under the expert leadership of Gabriella Murphy.
“Hopefully this is a trend that can continue throughout their time with us here at Rydal Penrhos, and I would also like to offer thanks to Mary Richardson for her outstanding efforts in organising the garden party.”
