A Preparatory School pupil is following in the footsteps of her brother with notable sporting success.
Lily Copeland, a Year 4 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, has enjoyed a memorable few days at various competitions throughout the region.
The eight-year-old began with a superb performance at the North West Cross Country Championships, where she finished 19th from more than 100 entries in the Year 6 race, and she was also the first Prep School girl home by a comfortable margin.
Lily then turned her attention to swimming the following day, where she managed to book her place at the Urdd National Championships in Cardiff with the Medley Relay and Mixed Relay after emerging from the regional heats which were held in Llandudno.
The gifted pupil capped off her achievements by starring for the school’s Hockey side in their 4-0 win over The Ryleys, where Lily fired in a hat-trick to see her come away with Player of the Match Honours.
She's closely following in the footsteps of her brother, James, who is a Year 8 academic scholar and current Year 7 cross country champion.
He was also Prep School deputy head boy, Rugby captain and former cross country record holder.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “Lily is developing into a fantastic all-rounder and this week has further highlighted how much talent she possesses in a number of areas.”
