A Preparatory pupil has received a role of responsibility for the school’s rugby side.
Liam Farrell, a Year 6 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, has been appointed captain for the current season ahead of an extremely busy series of fixtures for the group.
The 11-year-old has been a hugely influential figure throughout all areas of Prep School life, and he received his skipper’s badge at the weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, January 26.
Farrell will now work with vice-captain Max Cowen Wright and will lead the Rydal Penrhos charge as it looks to retain the Cooper Cup for the fourth consecutive year against Colwyn Bay in the coming weeks.
Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod, said: “Liam is not only a very talented individual, but he makes everyone around him better too which is the mark of a true leader.
“There is a real excitement across all year groups ahead of the Cooper Cup, which is one of the highlights of the sporting calendar and shows the community spirit that we are always looking to promote.
“I am confident that Liam can carry on the fine tradition of success here at the Prep School and on behalf of everyone at Rydal Penrhos I would like to congratulate him on a well-deserved appointment.”
