- Name: Kevin Farrell
- Year group: Year 11
- Role: Marius Pontmercy; Convict 5
A multi-talented individual who is thriving across all areas of school life, Kevin will be taking on the large role of Marius Pontmercy during the upcoming Dramatic Society of Les Misérables.
The Year 11 pupil is a very strong academic as was demonstrated by his incredible set of GCSE results last summer, where he took four subjects a year earlier than necessary.
He was rewarded for his exceptional application to his studies with A* marks in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, in addition to a 9 mark in Mathematics in accordance with the new grading system.
Kevin has plenty of experience on stage thanks to his involvement in various concerts put on by Rydal Penrhos throughout the academic year, and there has been plenty to celebrate from a sporting perspective to further enhance his overall influence on school life.
He is a Welsh Sailing international alongside brothers Liam and Eddie, helped the school’s U16 boys’ hockey side clinch the Welsh Schools’ Championships last year and also reached the national final of the Rotary International Youth Speaks competition alongside fellow pupils Sydney Johnson and Cerys Cuddihy.
Marius Pontmercy is a young student, and the suitor of Cosette.
Believing Cosette lost to him, and determined to die, he joins the revolutionary association Friends of the ABC, which he associates with, but is not a part of, as they take part in the 1832 June Rebellion.
Facing death in the fight, his life is saved by Jean Valjean, and he subsequently weds Cosette, a young woman whom Valjean had raised as his own.
