As part of a special series of summer features, we turn our attention to our Year 6 pupils as we reflect on their accomplishments and get the perspective of Prep School Head Alison Hind.
The latest instalment of Leavers’ Focus features Telor Jones:
An integral member of the Year 6 group, Telor is another that has come to life in his final few months before heading to Rydal Penrhos’ senior site in September.
His appointment as a Senior Prefect in the autumn and really took on the responsibility extremely well, displaying the characteristics that have become synonymous with Telor’s overall personality since he arrived as a Nursery child way back in 2009.
Telor’s leadership in his role of ski captain brought with it plenty of success, including a standout showing in at the Welsh Schools’ Championships during another notable season of achievement for the programme.
Academically he continues to show a great deal of promise, and his dedication in areas such as sport and drama have gathered significant praise in recent months.
As a result of his impressive final year as a Prep pupil, Telor received the Ski Captain’s Cup, the award for the Most Improved Sports Boy and the Forest School prize at Rydal Penrhos’ annual Speech Day event prior to the summer break.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “From mischief to serious-minded, I have seen Telor really mature and develop into a super young man who although still enjoys living life to the full and having fun with friends, also takes his responsibilities seriously and likes to do the right thing.
“Despite finding some things tricky, Telor has applied himself with a determined attitude and worked hard, and it pleases me to see and hear that he always diligently completed homework to a good standard. A good example for everyone.
“This year he has enjoyed many successes in sport showing great commitment, and was appointed ski captain at the start of the season.”
