As part of a special series of summer features, we turn our attention to our Year 6 pupils as we reflect on their accomplishments and get the perspective of Prep School Head Alison Hind.
The latest instalment of Leavers’ Focus features Isabel Stubbings:
Isabel is another that has flourished under the guidance of Prep School staff, taking on each task with an exceptional attitude and an infectious enthusiasm that is going to be sorely missed next year.
Despite only joining Rydal Penrhos as a Year 4 pupil in 2015, the 11-year-old quickly emerged as a prominent figure within her year group and this was reflected in her appointment as a Prefect and Brecon House captain for the 2017/18 academic year.
She served as a fantastic leader and role model for younger members of the Prep School community and was a huge motivator to her House during another hugely successful series of competitions.
Perhaps her crowning glory from her time at Rydal Penrhos was her outstanding performance as the Genie in the recent Year 6 play Aladdin, with Isabel’s hilarious portrayal of the popular character drawing widespread praise and was undoubtedly one of the highlights from the two-night performance.
In recognition of her outstanding contribution, Isabel received an Award for ‘giving her all in everything she Does’ at Rydal Penrhos’ annual Speech Day event prior to the summer break.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Isabel has been described as a lovely pupil to teach as she is conscientious and enjoys every aspect of school life, bringing a smile to all she does.
“Whilst appearing reserved sometimes, she is quietly confident and, as Dean Jones puts it, regarding her performance in Aladdin, she brought a sparkle to proceedings during her portrayal of the Genie.
“I would say that this is true of Isabel in other contexts and her kind and gentle nature is an example to others.”
