As part of a special series of summer features, we turn our attention to our Year 6 pupils as we reflect on their accomplishments and get the perspective of Prep School Head Alison Hind.
The latest instalment of Leavers’ Focus features Harley Doyle:
Harley may have only been a part of the Year 6 group for 12 months, but that has not deterred him from making a significant impact during his brief time at Rydal Penrhos.
His energy, passion and enthusiasm across all areas of Prep School life has really come to the fore, and Harley has emerged as one of the key contributors to what has been another year of outstanding collective achievement for the year group.
The determined pupil played a significant role in Rydal Penrhos’ fourth consecutive victory in the Cooper Cup against Colwyn Bay Rugby Cup and his efforts on the slopes saw him earn the Kelly Elson Ski Cup at the Prep School’s annual Speech Day event on Friday, July 6.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Harley also only joined us at the beginning of the year but it didn’t take him long to settle and become a popular member of the year group, getting into all things sporty.
“He has worked very hard both in and out of the classroom and made good progress all round.
“He is described by his teachers as a real grafter who has Just embraced all that is on offer to him.
"Harley really enjoyed the skiing season and is described as the ‘wipe-out kid’ who regularly crashed in spectacular style, but simply brushed himself off and went for more.”
