Some of Rydal Penrhos’ most talented Performing Artists took the stage for a special event recently.
A host of pupils, together with some staff, entertained a large crowd at the Memorial Hall during a Speech and Drama Comedy Night, which took place on Tuesday, January 29.
There were plenty of laughs to be had throughout the event thanks to a series of hilarious sketches put on by members of each year group that take part in the school’s thriving Speech and Drama provision.
Each performer had been working incredibly hard in the lead-up to the performance under the guidance of passionate provision leader Christina Bloomfield, which brought with it some exceptional contributions from those involved.
It has been another very successful few months for the programme, thanks in no small part to the exceptional set of examination results from their respective London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art assessments last year.
This included a plethora of distinctions from all age groups, with many now striving for further success in the near future at various levels of difficulty.
Mrs Bloomfield, said: “I was immensely proud of everyone that performed at our Speech and Drama Comedy Night, and it went down extremely well with those in attendance.
“To see young and old giving their all on stage was so heart-warming, and their passion for the performing arts is something that really came across throughout.”
