The latest group of adventurous Rydal Penrhos pupils have completed the initial stage of a special course.
The Year 8 group got to grips with the introduction to Scuba Diving tasks, which are being run at the school’s Swimming Pool over a number of weeks.
Upon successful completion of the first stage of the course, pupils will then have the opportunity to take part in their full Scuba Diving course, which will take place later this year.
This is one of a plethora of extra-curricular courses run by staff at the pool, which include gaining a Pool Lifeguard qualification and Open Water Diving courses.
Head of Swimming Maciej Ruszkowski, said: “At Rydal Penrhos we encourage each pupil to be the best they can be, and courses such as this expands their skill set and gives them something different to add on to their CV in the coming years.
“The Scuba Diving course offers a unique opportunity for our pupils to learn a very specialist craft, and also have a great deal of fun in the process, and this is something they grasp with both hands as they look to expand their learning and experiences.
“This can not only be beneficial for recreational reasons, but can also give you a helping hand in the highly competitive job market in the future.”
