A Preparatory School martial artist received a special award for her outstanding determination during an extra-curricular activity.
Lucy Ranales-Griffiths, a Year 5 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, has been training at the John Lynn’s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Colwyn Bay for a prolonged period in the discipline of Karate, and has achieved a significant amount of grading successes during this period.
Her outstanding commitment saw Lucy presented with the Student of the Week Award from coaches at the facility, which is presented to the child that shows a consistent level of effort during their sessions.
This is the latest in a series of achievements from Lucy, who continues to thrive across a multitude of different areas including Tennis, Sailing, Performing Arts and Music.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Lucy’s ongoing determination to excel in all areas of her school life is matched by the level of commitment displayed during out-of-school activities, and she can be enormously proud of her accomplishments.
“To not only make the time for so many things takes an enormous amount of discipline and enthusiasm, something that Lucy is learning in abundance as part of her ongoing development at Rydal Penrhos and the John Lynn’s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy.”
