Three hard-working pupils at Rydal Penrhos were acknowledged for their overall contribution to school life with special end of term awards.
The trio have played a leading role across a multitude of different areas throughout both the spring term and academic year in general, and they are now the proud owners of Head’s Prizes after being selected for the accolade by Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding.
Year 7 pupil Raif Horrocks, together with the Upper Sixth Form duo of Joe Gardener and Ruby James, received their respective distinctions at Rydal Penrhos’ end of term Prizegiving Assembly on Friday, April 5.
Lower School member Raif has made a hugely encouraging start to life at Rydal Penrhos after joining the school in September, and the 12-year-old has developed considerably both academically and from a co-curricular perspective.
He also played a leading role in the U12 Boys’ Hockey side securing the North Wales Championship to qualify for the national finals next month.
Ruby had a massive influence in her role as House Captain and Prefect, and she was also a hugely important member of the Dramatic Society cast that took part in the Les Miserables extravaganza over three sold-out nights in March.
Joe’s exceptional progression from an academic perspective has been a source of great pride, and his performances on the rugby field in XV and 7s disciplines have seen him emerge as one of the key contributors to the senior set-up.
