Rydal Penrhos is delighted to announce its Payne House Captains for the 2019/20 academic year.
The school’s Head of Sixth Form Leah Crimes revealed that Iestyn Williams and Nia Humphreys will assume the role following a successful application process, taking over from Upper Sixth Form duo Ewan Luke and Louise Weis.
All House Captains this year will also be part of the Prefect Team, working with newly appointed Head Boy Ioan Peake-Jones and Head Girl Millie Collins to ensure the smooth running of the school from a pupil perspective.
Iestyn arrived at Rydal Penrhos as a Year 7 pupil in 2013 as has made a large impression across a wide range of different areas of school life, and the talented footballer was recently appointed as the First XI captain thanks to his overall leadership across the provision.
Lower Sixth pupil Nia has made a considerable impression on the school after joining on a sports scholarship in September, immediately integrating herself with her peers and becoming a key component in the school’s Netball side in her role as First XI skipper.
The sister of former pupil Euan is also the co-chair of Rydal Penrhos’ Sixth Form Management Committee alongside Alexandra Williams.
Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “Iestyn and Nia’s enthusiasm really came across during what was a thorough assessment process for our Sixth Form Prefect team and House Captains.
“This is a trait that is sure to ensure they are going to be a massive influence in their new roles during the final year of their time here at Rydal Penrhos.”
