Hundreds of pounds were raised by a parent-led group for different projects at Rydal Penrhos.
The Friends of Rydal Penrhos committee pitched up a marquee at New Field for Sports Day on Friday, May 18, which brought together the whole school community together as Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior competitions were held at the same venue for the first time.
They were on hand throughout the three events with cakes, drinks, and other refreshments, while there was also a seating area outside for those in attendance to relax and enjoy the action in the sunshine.
FORPS chair Gail Lavery announced that a total of £561.93 was raised from the day, and this will go towards worthy projects across all areas of school life once the applications have been submitted and a decision made.
It promises to be a very busy few weeks for the group ahead of their annual FORPS Summer Fair, which will take at the Memorial Quad on Friday, June 22 from 3.30pm.
A host of exciting things are being arranged ahead of the event, which is one of the prominent dates on the school calendar.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “Our fantastic Friends of Rydal Penrhos committee have done so much good across all areas since their inception, buying equipment and aiding with different activities to maximise the opportunities and enhance the overall learning experience of each pupil at the school.
“Their continued commitment is very much appreciated and hopefully they will be able to raise another large sum from the eagerly anticipated Summer Fair.”
