A large number of Preparatory pupils have begun their journey on a school-led Spelling Challenge.
Rydal Penrhos staff devised the popular scheme for pupils last year, which has three different levels each with 110 words.
The pupils have been encouraged to work towards their incremental targets of Gold, Silver and Bronze within each stage, and a number have already completed the challenge since its inception.
The latest group of individuals have successfully completed the first stage of the scheme, with James Davies, Lewis Jellicoe, Lawrence Aspell, Hudson Lamb, Bill Gan, Jorvan Toor and Joshua Williams all securing their Stage One Bronze certificates.
Also climbing the ladder were the Year 3 pair of Sophie Morris and April Williams, who are now one step from completing the first phase after achieving their Stage One Silver award.
All pupils received recognition and their certificates at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, February 9.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “We have had a great deal of Spelling Challenge success across all age groups here at Rydal Penrhos, and the initiative has proved to be a very successful learning tool in terms of improving vocabulary.
“Hopefully our younger members of the Prep School will continue this into the future and I would like to congratulate them on their initial achievements.”
