An aspiring Hockey star at Rydal Penrhos will get the chance to make another impact in a high-profile regional fixture this weekend.
Alexander Starling, a Year 9 pupil at the school, has been called-up to the North Wales U14 side that with take on South Wales in a special fixture held at Newtown on Sunday, November 18.
The 13-year-old earned his place in the squad after impressing considerably during the trial process, and he will be aiming to contribute significantly during what is expected to be a hotly contested tie between two very accomplished regional sides.
It has been an extremely positive start to life at Rydal Penrhos for Alexander, who arrived at the school in September and has already made his mark thanks to his outstanding work ethic both academically and during co-curricular activities.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This is another outstanding milestone for Alexander and everyone at Rydal Penrhos wishes him the very best of luck with the North Wales squad this weekend.
“He is a very talented individual who is working hard with our coaching staff on his conditioning and various other areas of his game, and hopefully this is going to stand him in good stead during this fixture and when the season starts from a school perspective.”
