A budding triathlete at Rydal Penrhos performed well in his first ever competition last weekend.
Gregor Perry, a Year 7 pupil at the school, made his competitive debut in the highly competitive Denbigh Junior Triathlon, which took place on Saturday, June 24.
The 12-year-old gave a very good account of himself against more experienced opposition in his age category, and he crossed the line in a respectable ninth place for his impressive effort.
He received a medal for his efforts and will now begin training hard in the hope of developing in all areas of Triathlon at future competitions.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Our Triathlon programme is still in its infancy, but it is something that has really caught the attention of our young pupils, something that is sure to make the initiative a roaring success.
“Getting a taste for competitive action in events like this will be essential for Gregor’s development, and the early signs are that there is definitely some potential if he continues to push himself at his current rate.
“Hopefully this is just the start of things to come for him, and our dedicated staff will be working hard to ensure that his personal goals are met.”
