Golf Academy members at Rydal Penrhos saw out the academic year in style thanks to a special annual event.
Programme co-ordinator Ian Richardson arranged another Golf Tour during Activity Week, which ran from July 1-3.
The group began the week with a short trip to Academy partners North Wales Golf Club in Llandudno, where they will compete in the North Wales Schools’ Championships around the picturesque course.
This was followed by a trip to Carden Park over a two-day period, where each member of the squad tested their skills on the championship-quality Cheshire and Nicklaus courses.
After a hugely competitive two-days of action, Adrian Lewis managed to come away with the competition crown with an impressive score of 75, beating out Welsh U18 international Reuben Bather, Golf Wales Academy star Charley Simpson, Jacob Cousins and the ever-improving Richard Wolfendale to achieve success.
It has been another incredible year within the Academy, which has further enhanced the exceptional co-curricular provision offered at Rydal Penrhos.
Reuben, Charley, Adrian and Richard have all secured notable milestones throughout the campaign, with beginner programmes for Year 7 also boosting numbers and increasing participation.
Mr Richardson, said: “It was another fantastic Activity Week tour that our Academy members got a great deal out of.
“Although the school season may have finished, it is going to be a very busy summer for a lot of them at competitions both regionally, nationally and across the continent, and everyone at Rydal Penrhos wishes them the best of luck with their endeavours.”
