An aspiring golfer at Rydal Penrhos continued his excellent run of recent achievements with another regional competition triumph.
Adrian Lewis, a Year 10 pupil at the school, emerged victorious at the John Smiths Brewery Junior Championship, which was held at North Wales Golf Club in Llandudno on Sunday, August 5.
The 15-year-old demonstrated his impressive range of shots during a standout round on the picturesque course, securing a final nett score of 69 (78 gross).
This ensured the nine-handicapper triumphed by three strokes to get his hands on the trophy, which is further evidence of the progression Adrian is making as part of Rydal Penrhos’ thriving Golf Academy programme.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This is another outstanding achievement from Adrian and one that he can take a great deal of encouragement from.
“He is one of our real success stories since the inception of our Golf Academy, which is led superbly by programme co-ordinator Ian Richardson and our team of dedicated staff who strive to ensure that each player’s goals are met.
“Hopefully this will be the start of things to come for Adrian and given how dedicated he is to improving all areas of his game, the sky is the limit in terms of how much he can develop in the future.”
