A number of GCSE Drama candidates took to the stage in pursuit of summer exam success.
The group rounded off a busy few weeks of rehearsals with two separate examination performances on Thursday, February 1 and Friday 2 at the Rick Maple Drama Studio.
The performances consisted of monologues and duologues, with each showcase filmed for external examiners.
Barooj Maqsood and Amy Yue performed scenes from The Long Road, while German boarder Carlotta Freytag’s monologue was centred on Girls Like That.
Harry Hackman played the possessive boyfriend of Zhara Shamsi in their monologues and duologue from Two, with the duo of Ruby Hodgson and Niamh Hall at odds over a man in The Woman Who Cooked Her Husband.
Rounding off the pupil involvement was Orla McGagh, who created costumes for those performing.
English and Drama teacher Fiona Earle, said: “Each pupil worked incredibly hard in the lead-up to their examination pieces, and they can be very proud of the way they performed and progressed throughout the whole process.
“We have had a very impressive run of recent exam results from the department and hopefully our current Year 11 pupils can continue this when they receive their final marks in the summer.”
