GCSE Drama group receive praise for examination performances

GCSE Drama candidates at Rydal Penrhos have been praised for their excellent application leading up to and during their examination performance.

The Year 11 group descended on the Rick Maple Drama Studio on Thursday, March 14 for their moment of truth, which was performed in front of a live audience that included parents, pupils and staff.

Cerys Cuddihy, Eddie Hackman, Anna Parry Williams, Amanda Sperring, Teddy Roberts and Tegid Goodman-Jones all performed individual and group pieces as part of the assessment in front of the attending examiner, which will be a portion of their overall GCSE mark this summer.

Each pupil worked tremendously hard for a prolonged period leading up to their respective performances under their guidance of Head of Drama Rachel Jones, together with English and Drama teacher Fiona Earle to ensure they were fully prepared and confident ahead of their big night.

They were also visited by leading actress, Mossie Smith, who held a special workshop with the group on their exam pieces and discussed ways of improving before the assessment.

Miss Earle, said: “Our GCSE Drama group were outstanding in both their commitment, enthusiasm and quality of their performances during what was no doubt a tiring and stressful week for all involved.

“They all rose to the occasion in a very impressive way and I would like to congratulate all of them on their wonderful efforts.”
