Four receive Speech Day award for Contribution to House Spirit

Four Sixth Form pupils at Rydal Penrhos have received a special award acknowledging their respective efforts throughout the academic year.

Sam Randall, Anna Richardson, Elinor Davies and Lia-Britt Zenker, Year 13 pupils at the school, jointly won the Contribution to the Competitive House Spirit Prize at Rydal Penrhos’ annual Speech Day event on Saturday, May 26.

All four have been hugely influential members of the school community throughout their time within the Sixth Form, and their motivation and organisation of all year groups

The award recognises their influence within their respective houses during a series of Inter-House competitions held across various departments including Music, Drama, Sport and Academia.

They received their respective accolades from former pupil Flt Lt Nathan Jones, who delivered an inspirational address as the special guest speaker at the celebration.

After a hugely competitive competition throughout the year, Wesley were named as Yeung Bowl House Cup for the second year in succession, triumphing by the narrow margin of 57 points from Osborn.

Head of Sixth Form Peter Lavery, said: “Anna, Elinor, Lia-Britt and Sam have made a superb contribution to all House events throughout the academic year, and they can be hugely proud of the efforts they have made throughout their school life.

“We will be extremely sad to see them go but everyone at Rydal Penrhos wishes them the very best of luck during their University life and their particular career path in the future.”
