A host of former Rugby Academy stars have agreed contract extensions with Principality Premiership side RGC 1404.
No fewer than four young Gogs have been rewarded for their impressive recent performances throughout another successful campaign at Stadiwm Zip World with new deals, which were announced by general manager Sion Jones.
Former Wales U18 international Dan Owen, who left Rydal Penrhos last summer, will look to continue his exceptional progression under Mark Jones after agreeing terms, while scrum-half Efan Jones will be looking to stake a claim for a permanent starting place following the departure of Alex Schwartz to Cornish Pirates.
Another that could benefit from a high-profile departure is Danny Cross, who has made an encouraging return from injury this season and may be set to see some more time at the fly-half position with New Zealander Jacob Botica joining Newport Gwent Dragons.
Rounding off the new deals for former Academy prospects is Sam Jones, with the winger looking to return from an operation to hit the ground running this summer after a frustrating campaign spent mostly on the sidelines.
The Rydal Penrhos Rugby Academy is run in partnership with RGC and the Welsh Rugby Union, which has produced a wealth of international, senior squad members and talent that are plying their trade at established sides across the country.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Dan, Efan, Danny and Sam are four of our most decorated Rugby Academy graduates, and it is fantastic to see their hard work rewarded with new contracts to continue with RGC.
“All four possess an incredible amount of talent and possess a self-belief that has been a key contributing factor behind that Gogs’ fantastic rise to prominence in recent seasons.”
