A talented Preparatory School footballer has been rewarded for a fine season with a special award.
Nathan Richards, a Year 4 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, has been part of the Rhos United U10 squad throughout a busy series of fixtures against other sides from across the region.
The nine-year-old turned in a number of exceptional performances for the side, and this was recognised at their end of season presentation evening when he was the worthy recipient of the Manager’s Player of the Year accolade.
Former pupil Ben Griffin is part of the coaching staff at the club, with Felix Griffin, Fleur Roberts and Theo Roberts other Rydal Penrhos representatives within the set-up.
This is another fine achievement to add to Nathan’s growing list, which has seen him contribute significantly across all areas of Prep School life throughout a hugely impressive academic year for the pupil.
He played a huge part in Rydal Penrhos’ Cooper Cup rugby win against Colwyn Bay, was one of the standout performers during the annual Year 4 play A Midsummer Night’s Dream and recently achieved his Karate Black Belt despite his tender age.
Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod, said: “Nathan’s passion for football and all things related to sport are matched by his outstanding potential in a number of areas, so it was no surprise to see him pick up an award after a wonderful season with the Rhos United youth system.
"Hopefully he can use this latest achievement as another source of inspiration during the summer as looks to continue his fantastic development next season."
