A young Preparatory School footballer got his fledgling career off to the best possible start recently.
Harrison Simmons, a Year 2 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, took the field in a competitive game for the first time as part of the Colwyn Bay Wizards side during the contest against Mochdre after impressing considerably during his initial training sessions with the group.
He managed to turn in a superb performance on his debut during an impressive win for the Wizards, which saw Harrison claim the Man of the Match Award as a result of his exceptional start to life with the team.
Harrison is developing considerably across all areas of Rydal Penrhos life, and he was also part of the Prep School football side that competed at a special tournament at the home of the Manchester City Academy earlier in the academic year.
The pupil received a special trophy acknowledging his achievement, and he received a generous round of applause at the school’s weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, February 22 prior to the half term break.
Mrs Hind, said: “Harrison showed nerves of steel to come through his first game with the Colwyn Bay Wizards with flying colours, and this debut performance will undoubtedly give him a great deal of confidence going forward.
“He is a very enthusiastic individual who has already demonstrated a keen willingness to learn, and this has remained the same in both the classroom and during his co-curricular opportunities.”
