Aspiring footballers at Rydal Penrhos competed for some much-needed house points at a recent competition.
The school held its annual Boarding Inter-House Five-a-Side Football Championships prior to the Easter break, which saw teams play against each other in a round-robin format to determine the overall winner.
It was a very competitive event that produced plenty of outstanding group and individual displays, with Beecholme turning in a series of exceptional display to see them crowned champions of the event.
Other performances of note came from the Edwards Girls’ House, who gave a very good account of themselves against more experienced opposition, with Hathaway and Netherton also emerging from the competition with a great deal of credit.
The points accumulated will go towards the total that will crown the Yeung Bowl House Cup winner at this year’s Speech Day event at Rydal Penrhos later this month.
Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “This was another fantastic Inter-House competition put on by our hard-working staff, and the enthusiasm shown by each pupil involved ensured they all got an enormous amount out of what was a very competitive event.
“This has been one of the cornerstones of our success here at Rydal Penrhos and I would like to congratulate Beecholme Boarding House on their overall victory.”
