      We offer our Sixth Form pupils a chance to boost their qualifications with a Level 3 Extended Certificate in Professional Cookery’, from September 2019, as an extra-curricular opportunity.

      BENEFITS

      • 2-year course beginning in Year 12 (5 terms)

      • Enhances employability for weekend, summer and gap year jobs
      • Improves time management, organisation and team-work skills
      • Professional level Food Hygiene Certificate, beneficial for summer or gap year employability
      • Level 3 Extended Certificate in Professional Cookery accredited by CTH, equivalent to AS/A Level
      • Gives knowledge and confidence to those about to embark on independent living

      COURSE STRUCTURE

      • Weekly 3-hour practical session (which will run after the school day)
      • Weekly theory session (for those choosing the extended certificate)

      ASSESSMENT

      • Continuous assessment through practical exam schedule
      • Coursework focusing on menu planning, writing time-plans and informal tests
