A parent group at Rydal Penrhos has made a significant contribution to this year’s Annual Fund campaign.
The Friends of Rydal Penrhos Committee has donated a total of £6,730 towards the ambitious project to transform the Sixth Form Ferguson Centre, which is a pupil-led initiative that has generated an incredible amount of support since its launch.
This money was raised through the annual FORPS Christmas Ball and Auction, which also featured a large number of donations from Business Club owners to aid the event further.
The objective of the project is to turn the centre into a “bright, creative and inspiring space”, and it has been predominantly organised by the Upper Sixth duo of Anna Richardson and Morgan Roberts.
As part of the campaign, the team have researched possible designs, contacted companies for quotes, met with the Senior Leadership Team as well as presenting their plans to Governors at the school.
Thanks to various fundraising initiatives and generous donations, the total now stands at £33,726 of the £50,000 target with a number of other events planned in one final push in the hope of achieving their goal.
Head of Sixth Form Pete Lavery, said: “We are always indebted to the Friends of Rydal Penrhos committee for their fantastic fundraising efforts to improve the school, and the amount they raised for our Ferguson Centre project will go a long way to helping our pupls achieve their overall target.
“Our pupils have taken the lead on this and the commitment they have shown to the cause has been exemplary, which will hopefully see them through the final few weeks of campaigning.”
