Imogen’s Chess ability was evident from a very early age, winning a series of regional competitions during her time at the Prep School that eventually resulted in a Welsh Youth squad selection later on, with the pupil taking part in prestigious competitions such as the World Youth Championships for her country.
She was also crowned joint-winner of the Welsh Senior Women’s Championship to further enhance her reputation as one of the brightest young players anywhere in the country.
The gifted academic achieved no fewer than seven A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Home Economics, Mathematics Physics and Religious Studies.
The pupil also managed to secure a Distinction in her Additional Mathematics, an A in German (Second Language) and two eight marks in English (First Language) and English Literature in accordance with the newly introduced grading system.
She is currently studying Physics, Further Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry at A-level, and is hoping to achieve the necessary marks to secure her place at Queens’ College Cambridge in the summer.
Another notable achievement during her time at Rydal Penrhos is Imogen’s selection to the Prefect team for the 2018/19 academic year, and her support to younger members of the school community in her role as Peer Mentor is another example of the impact she has made in recent years.
Her achievements in Mathematics have seen her achieve high marks in the Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad, as well as Gold Awards from the UKMT’s Senior Challenge and a national final berth as part of team Rydal Penrhos in the Trust’s Team Challenge.
