Examination Arrangements: Summer 2019
Year 10 (GCSE)
Year 10 pupils will be sitting GCSE papers in only a few subjects this summer, and other subjects will be tested by internal end-of-year examinations in the week of 17th to 21st June.
Individual public examination timetables have now been issued to all pupils. For public examinations, morning papers begin promptly at 9.00am, while afternoon papers start at 1.30pm; candidates must arrive at the examination room fifteen minutes early so as to ensure a smooth start.
Attendance at lessons
There is no study leave for members of Year 10, who must attend all lessons in the summer term except those taking place in the morning before an afternoon examination, and they may take a half-hour break after an examination. For day pupils, study in the morning before an afternoon examination can be undertaken either at home or under supervision in School; Year 10 boarders will of course be supervised in School. We will be providing opportunities for targeted revision lessons in departments for every public examination, and all pupils are expected to take advantage of all such sessions.
Pupils should give their tutor and the relevant teachers some advance notice of their absence due to an examination or to study for an examination.
The GCSE results will be published at School on Thursday 22nd August 2019.
You may receive your results in a variety of ways:
- you can collect your results envelope from Reception between 10:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs; the envelope will otherwise go in the late afternoon post for delivery to your home address;
- you can telephone Reception (01492 530155) between 10:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs. Your results will still be posted to you later in the day;
- you can provide us with an email address in advance to which you would like the results to be sent.
