Ethan Bytheway rewarded for hard work with Trumpet Grading distinction

A talented musician at Rydal Penrhos has been rewarded for his hard work with a notable grading achievement.

Ethan Bytheway, a Year 8 pupil at the school, managed to secure a Distinction from his Grade 4 Trumpet examination, which was administered by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.

The 12-year-old will now begin studying for a Jazz Grade in the hope of gaining similar success in the future.

Ethan has become a prominent member of the Rydal Penrhos Orchestra since his time at the senior school, where he is following in the footsteps of brother Alex, a 2016 graduate who is now studying Chemistry at the University of York.

Director of Music Pete Williams, said: “This is a first-class result from Ethan, who has worked enormously hard in order to gain such a high mark.

“Our Music grading successes are a testament to the talent and work ethic displayed by our pupils across all age groups, which has resulted in consistent results of the highest order from both Prep and Senior sites.

“Hopefully this trend will continue long into the future and with pupils like Ethan we know the future of our co-curricular achievements are in very safe hands.”
