Ellie and Charlotte secure Karate grading double

A Preparatory School sister team have added to their list of recent accolades with an impressive grading success.

Ellie and Charlotte Knight, Year 4 and 1 pupils at Rydal Penrhos, secured another step on the Karate ladder after coming through a recent assessment with flying colours.

The duo train at the nearby John Lynn’s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Colwyn Bay, which has been the scene for a host of achievement gained by prep and senior pupils in recent years.

Nine-year-old Ellie is now just a few steps away from reaching her black belt after securing another KYU on her brown belt, and she was recognised for her fantastic efforts with the Student of the Week Award.

There was yet more family success to celebrate in the form of six-year-old Charlotte, who is following his her sibling’s footsteps with a 4th KYU assessment triumph at Green Belt level.

Both have already begun working hard in the hope of securing further achievements in the discipline in the coming weeks.

Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “This is yet more fantastic news for the Knight family and congratulations go to both Ellie and Charlotte on successfully coming through yet another karate grading.

“Gaining experiences outside of the classroom is something we actively encourage here at Rydal Penrhos, and credit also must go to the parents for their tireless commitment to giving their children the very best start in life.”
