Eleven more achieve Spelling Challenge assessment success

A host of Preparatory School pupils have been rewarded for their excellent academic progression with further success in an ongoing learning initiative.

Rydal Penrhos’ hard-working and passionate staff devised a new spelling challenge for pupils last year, which has three different levels each with 110 words.

The pupils have been encouraged to work towards their incremental targets of Gold, Silver and Bronze within each stage, and a host of certificates have already been issued as a result of their hard work since the initiative began.

Noah Roberts, Martha-Rose Johnson, Emily Nurse, Shane Ayeni, Felix Griffin, James Davies, Grayson Williams, April Mills, Jorvan Toor, William Cheesley and Joshua Williams all climbed one more step up the ladder, with each claiming either Stage Two Bronze, Stage One Gold or Stage One Silver distinctions after coming through their respective assessments with flying colours.

All received their certificates from Deputy Head Alison Hind at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, June 15.

The school Spelling Challenge has been a tremendous success since its inception and rapidly become another vital learning tool for each pupil thanks to the hard work of dedicated staff at the site.

Mrs Hind, said: “The younger members of our school community have really embraced the Spelling Challenge, and this is sure to ensure its success long into the future.

“They have all dedicated a great deal of time to improving their vocabulary and have received fantastic support and guidance from teaching staff, something that has also contributed significantly to their overall progression.”
