Preparatory School pupils took to the stage for a special competition surrounding a nationwide initiative.
As part of Rydal Penrhos’ contribution to National Poetry Day, Drama Club members from separate houses performed a poem at the school’s weekly Celebration Assembly held on Friday, September 29, which was the very first conducted by Headmaster Simon Smith.
The inter-house poetry competition featured performances from Snowdon, Brecon and Pembroke, which was a results of a great deal of hard work and preparation to learn lines and practice routines associated with their poems.
All three performances were given a huge round of applause by staff, parents and pupils alike, and the official announcement will be made at assembly next week once the votes have been counted.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “National Poetry Day is an occasion that our staff and pupils really look forward to, and this year’s event was no exception.
“The Drama Club has been working extremely hard on their respective poem performances, and all three efforts were of the highest standard which they can be immensely proud of.
“Congratulations to all pupils that took part and to Mrs Culver for her continued effort with the group.”
