Two passionate staff members at Rydal Penrhos will be hoping to lead their respective houses to success after taking on new roles.
Headmaster Simon Smith announced that Dr Jim Lewis and Charline Vallée have been appointed as Head of Osborn and Morgan respectively, and both will take up their new positions from January 1.
Dr Lewis, who replaces Hannah Freeman after the Maths teacher took up an exciting new challenge in South America, is one of the largest characters within the school and is also co-ordinator of Rydal Penrhos’ thriving Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
He recently made a hilarious cameo during the Inter-House Christmas Singing competition as the rapping Santa, and is a huge supporter of House events throughout the academic year.
Madame Vallée, who is taking over from Assistant Head of Middle School Paul Sanders, is also hugely involved in the organising of various events throughout the school and her commitment to teaching is something that makes her a huge asset to Rydal Penrhos’ Prep and Senior sites.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “We are delighted that Dr Lewis and Madame Vallée have agreed to take up their roles as Head of Osborn and Morgan, and we wish them well with their efforts.
“Our inter-house competition during the year is something our staff and pupils take an enormous amount of pride in, and it promises to be another exciting few months after the Christmas break as they go in search of the coveted House Trophy that is presented on Speech Day.”
