Details regarding a popular annual residential for a Preparatory School year group have been announced.
Provisional places have been booked for all present Year 5 pupils at Rydal Penrhos to attend an Adventure Week at the Arete Outdoor Centre in Llanrug shortly following the start of the academic year.
This course will include a day of biology and geography fieldwork and replaces the Year 6 strand of the residential trip in the summer term.
Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod, said: “Past pupils have thoroughly enjoyed the experience at the Arete Centre in Llanrug.
“The programme of activities very much depends on pupil skills and the weather but last year our boys and girls enjoyed sea-level traversing, abseiling, gorge scrambling and rock climbing.
“The trip proved to be an excellent Year 6 bonding exercise.”
This is one of many planned trips for children across all age groups throughout the academic year at Rydal Penrhos, which are implemented with a view to improving teamwork and communication skills, in addition to aiding their overall development outside of the classroom.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, added: “Our annual Llanrug residential is something that is one of the highlights of the calendar for our Year 6 group, and it has proven to be a very useful experience as the group embark on the final year with us and the challenges that lie ahead.”
