Time is running out for prospective Year 7 and 9 pupils to apply for a scholarship to Rydal Penrhos.
The deadline for Year 7 and 9 scholarships is Friday, January 18, with the Entrance Exam and Scholarship Day set for Saturday, February 2.
The school offers scholarships to pupils who show outstanding talent in various fields: academic, art, drama, music and sport.
Pupils may apply for scholarships at entry into Year 7, Year 9 and the Sixth Form.
Successful applicants are determined by the entrance examinations, scholarship exams, interview with a member of the Senior Management Team and, where appropriate, a practical assessment in school of the candidate’s proficiency in his or her chosen area.
Scholarships are normally awarded for the duration of the pupil’s school career, on condition that the pupil remains a committed and positive member of the school community, and actively contributes to the Rydal Penrhos’ academic or co-curricular life.
Sally Harding, Director of Studies at Rydal Penrhos, said: “We have had an enormous amount of success with our scholarship scheme, which has been the cornerstone of our rich history for decades here at Rydal Penrhos.
“Hopefully the next generation of Rydal Penrhosians can carry on this exceptional tradition and we look forward to welcoming prospective pupils and their families.”
